The Bihar assembly elections will be held before November 22, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar said on Sunday while addressing a press conference in Patna.
The ECI stated that since the Bihar Assembly is scheduled to dissolve on November 22, the poll dates are likely to be announced before that.
The Election Commission has intensified its preparations by holding a series of meetings across the state. The meeting continued on Sunday, October 5, with the ECI holding a press conference. Notably, on Saturday, the commission held a meeting with 12 political parties in Patna to discuss the upcoming polls.
CEC Gyanesh Kumar, accompanied by Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, conducted a thorough review of the poll preparedness for the upcoming Elections.
The ECI delegation, currently on a two-day visit to the state, convened important meetings in Patna with enforcement agencies to ensure free and fair elections. After these discussions, the Election Commission briefed the media on the current status of election readiness, highlighting measures taken to maintain the integrity of the electoral process.
