Bihar assembly election 2025: As the 2025 Bihar Assembly election heads toward a photo finish, the BJP-led NDA has crossed the 200-seat mark. There is a possibility that the BJP may become the largest party in the alliance. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and JD(U) are being credited for the NDA’s strong performance, but another rising figure is also drawing attention in the BJP’s top circles. Modi’s “Hanuman” is the one stealing the show.
Bihar Elections 2025- LJP’s Performance
Bihar assembly election 2025: The performance of Chirag’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) in these elections has taken everyone by surprise. The LJP has exceeded expectations and is leading even in some of the toughest constituencies. Chirag, who had maintained a 100 per cent success rate in the Lok Sabha elections, has also done remarkably well in the Assembly polls as of now. Out of the 29 candidates fielded by his party, he is currently leading in 22 seats as per 5 pm data. It should be noted that for all the seats he requested from the BJP, he has given a 100 per cent performance.
Toughest Constituencies of Bihar- Chirag’s LJP in fight
These seats include Sugauli, Govindganj, Belsand, Bahadurganj, Kasba, Balrampur, Simri Bakhtiyarpur, Bochaha, Darauli, Mahua, Bakhri, Parbatta, Nathnagar, Brahmpur, Chainari, Dehri, Obra, Sherghati, Bodh Gaya, Rajouli, and Govindpur. If the LJP wins all these seats, its strike rate will be around 73 percent, which will establish it as a strong party.
For example, Simri-Bakhtiarpur is one of the toughest constituencies where the LJP is contesting. In 2020, the seat was won by RJD’s Yusuf Salahuddin. Darauli is another constituency where the LJP is contesting. The seat has been won by the BJP only once, in the 2010 election. From 2005 onwards, it had been held by CPI(ML)L. Another constituency in Chirag’s contest is Bahadurganj. Since 2005, the BJP had little hope of winning here, but now, according to 6 PM ECI data, Chirag’s party is leading in this seat.
