Big Shake-Up In National Security Advisory Board: Govt Appoints Former-R&AW Chief Alok Joshi As Its Chairman

Rajiv Ranjan Verma and Manmohan Singh are the two retired members from the Indian Police Service. B Venkatesh Varma is a retired IFS officer in the seven-member board.

The Government has restructured the National Security Advisory Board, appointing former R&AW chief Alok Joshi as its new Chairman. Former Western Air Commander Air Marshal PM Sinha, former Southern Army Commander Lt Gen AK Singh, and Rear Admiral Monty Khanna are retired military officers.

The National Security Advisory Board (NSAB) is a multidisciplinary body made up of distinguished individuals from outside the government, primarily tasked with offering long-term analysis to the National Security Council and suggesting solutions and policy options for the issues it raises.
