Noida: Massive fire erupted in the multi-storey building of 16th Avenue of Gaur City 2 located in the Greater Noida West. As per officials, privy to the development, several people were feared being trapped in their flats due to it.

“The flames originated in the initial apartment and quickly extended to the adjacent unit, leaving several individuals stranded within the building. Two fire department vehicles have arrived at the scene, and active measures are underway to contain the blaze”, he said.
The offficials also stated that the fire brigades were seen rushed to the spot.

Informing about the incident, Pramod Kumar, in-charge of police outpost stated that the incident happened in a flat on the second floor at around 9:40 on Thursday morning. “In a swift action, three fire tenders rushed to the spot,” he said.
“The fire was controlled by 11 am,” claimed Kumar, adding that the flat belonged to Rahul Pandit who was not there when the fire started. The flat was locked.

“The initial investigation revealed that the fire erupted due to the short-circuit. However, the real reason behind the fire was unknown”, Kumar informed.
The flat was completely gutted to fire. Furthermore, the flat above also got damaged due to the major fire.
When asked about the fire system of the flat, he said that fire safety system of the flat was working fine but the fire was so destructive that fire tenders have to rush to the spot control it.
Moreover, Chief Fire Officer, Gautam Budh Nagar, stated that they had to break in into the flat as the owner was not in the flat and in order to control the fire it was necessary to get in.
