New Delhi: In a big news, the Narendra Modi-led Central government may introduce a bill to remove the word ‘India’ from the nation’s Constitution, claimed several media reports.
This comes after the central government stressed that the country should be liberated from “slavery mentality.” Meanwhile, the reports said the preparations have been started to draft the Bill.
The reports also suggested that the Bill will be introduced in a upcoming Special Session of the Parliament that is going to be held from September 18-22.
During the 13th session of the 17th Lok Sabha and the 261st session of the Rajya Sabha, five sessions will be held from September 18-22. According to sources, the government is seriously considering removing the word “India” from the phrase “India, i.e. Bharat”, which is used in the definition of India in Article 1 of the Indian Constitution. .
Recently, RSS leader Mohan Bhagwat also said that “the name of our country has existed for centuries now, Bharat”, and urged people to use the word Bharat instead of India.
In fact, during the Monsoon Session at Lok Sabha on August 11, Home Secretary Amit Shah called the IPC, drafted in 1860, the CrPCin (1898) and the Indian Evidence Act (1872) as signs of slavery.

Apart from it, the parliamentarians can also discuss on the sucessful landing of Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft on the south pole of the Moon. The mission orchestrated by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) received global applause for the triumph.
Discussions will also take place at the G20 summit, which is going to held in Delhi on on 9-10 September. Several events and programs related to this prestigious event will be taking place before the main summit.
However, the agenda for the next extraordinary session of the National Assembly has yet to be officially announced. According to some sources, a road map will be prepared to make India a “developed country” by 2047 and discussions will also take place on this particular topic.
