Big impact of News 24’s report: Case filed against goons at Indore RTO after attack on MPCG channel’s journalist

A big impact was witnessed from News 24’s report in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore. The News 24 MPCG team was attacked by middlemen at the Regional Transport Office (RTO). Now, the police have taken stern action against these goons after massive protests were staged against the incident. The police have booked seven people in the case.

The Indore Police registered a case against these middlemen under the section of dacoity. The accused have been identified as Narendra Chauhan, Ankit, Vinod, Chintaman, Nitin, Shankar Prajapat, Pawan, and Gajendra, who is employed as a clerk at the RTO.

What was the incident?

The News 24’s MPCG team led by reporter Hemant Sharma had gone to expose the corruption at the RTO office, but nearly 50 people gathered and attacked the team. They also started pelting stones at the team. The middlemen targeted them when the News 24 MPCG team was exposing the corruption at the RTO office. 

Reporter Hemant Sharma and other team members sustained injuries in the attack.
