India’s Central and State governments are running various schemes for different purposes. The schemes benefits many people who have applied for it or lie under that category.
One such benefit provided to the people of the country by the Central Government is free ration at the lowest price.
This benefit provided by the Indian Government comes under the National Food Security Act. Under this, the government offers rations to people by allotting a ration card to them.
The people who have the ration card can get the ration from the ration depot by showing that card in that depot.
According to media reports, over 80 crore people get this benefit of getting ration at the lowest price. The rules for the same are going to witness a change from this New Year.
Ration Cards Set For Cancellation: Know Who Will Be Affected
The central government has already brought rules for the E-KYC for the ration card holder. For this, time has been given to the cardholders. The deadline to get this done was December 31, 2024.
Several cardholders have not completed the process of E-KYC. If they fail to get it done by December 31, 2024, then the ration card of these individuals will be cancelled from January 1, 2025.
Process TO Get E-KYC Done
People can complete the process of E-KYC by going to the nearest ration depot. For completion of this process, you need to carry your Aadhaar Card along with you.
