New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been detained by the Delhi Police as he was marching towards the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The Congress leader was carrying out a march against the inflation and Agnipath scheme.
Said the Congress leader: “All Congress MPs were marching towards Rashtrapati Bhawan to raise the issue of inflation and price rise but they are not allowing us to go ahead from here.”
“Our job is to raise the issues of the people…Some MPs detained, also beaten,” added Gandhi at Vijay Chowk.

Earlier in the day, Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi held a press conference saying “Democracy is coming to an end”.

Members of the Congress started their protest even when the Delhi Police denied permission. The Congress members wore black to condemn the inflation and Agnipath scheme.
Owing to which, the Paramilitary forces and the Delhi police resorted to block Vijai Chowk road and the route from Parliament to President’s House by barricades.
The Congress leaders had also planned to ‘gherao’ the PM House.
Meanwhile, the saffron party alleged that the Congress is trying to cause a distraction due to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid in the National Herald Case.
