New Delhi: Four Members of Parliament of the Congress Party have been suspended from the Lok Sabha. The said members have been suspended for the entire monsoon session.
The members were suspended because they were protesting against price-rise issues while holding placards. Speaker Om Birla has earlier warned the MPs that if they wish to waive placards in order to protests they can do so outside the house.
The Congress party MPs who are suspended include Manickam Tagore, Jothimani, Ramya Haridas and TN Prathapan.
Speaker Om Birla has said that he is willing to allow the discussion on price-rise after 3 pm. He had also warned that he won’t be tolerating waiving placards within the House.
“If you want to show placards, do it outside the house. I am ready for discussions, but don’t think my kind-heartedness is a weakness,” the Speaker said. He later adjourned the proceedings till tomorrow.
