Ladakh New Districts: Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Monday that five new districts will be established in Ladakh. This decision comes just before the 2024 Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections.

Amit Shah shared on social media that the Ministry of Home Affairs made the decision to create new districts in the Union Territory to ensure that government benefits reach people's doorsteps.

Shah tweeted, “To follow PM Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed and prosperous Union Territory, the MHA will create five new districts: Zanskar, Drass, Sham, Nubra, and Changthang. These new districts will ensure government benefits reach people directly and improve local governance.”
