A senior official of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) fell victim to a honey trap scheme in Bhopal, leading to his blackmail by a gang. The officer was introduced to two Russian women at a hotel by members of the gang, who secretly filmed him in an indecent act using hidden cameras. The gang demanded 1 crore and threatened to release all 27 videos online. The officer, unable to meet their growing demands, filed a complaint with Govindpura police, leading to the arrest of one of the accused. The police are now investigating the involvement of four others.
Officer Falls Victim To Extortion Plot
The victim, a resident of the Govindpura area, had known the accused, a scrap contractor from Saket Nagar, for some time. The gang lured the officer into a hotel room and recorded compromising footage using hidden cameras. Initially, the officer paid the gang Rs 2.5 lakh twice, but the demands kept increasing. Eventually, the situation became unbearable, and the officer reported the crime to the authorities.
Officer Blackmailed With Secret Videos
The accused had a carefully planned operation, according to police reports. Two women first introduced the officer at a hotel, where they secretly recorded an indecent video using a hidden intelligence camera. Later, the accused sent another woman, claiming to be Russian, to the officer, and they recorded a second video in the same way.The gang used these videos to blackmail the officer for more money. When the officer refused to pay, the threats escalated, which ultimately led him to approach the police.

Bhopal Police Arrest Key Suspect
After receiving the complaint, the Govindpura police arrested one of the accused, a scrap contractor working with BHEL and the Public Works Department (PWD). The police are now interrogating the suspect and searching for the other accomplices, including the Russian woman involved in the scam. The case has been registered under various sections, including 308/06, 142, 351/4, and 3/5 of the BNS. The authorities are working to apprehend all the culprits involved in the honey trap scheme.
