Bhopal: A Delhi-based man allegedly raped a 28-year-old medical graduate woman after promising her an internship, TOI reported on Wednesday. The incident took place when she met the man at a hotel in Mangalwara to discuss an internship opportunity.

According to the complaint, the victim came in contact with the accused on Instagram. The accused, who contacted her on the platform, extorted Rs 40,000 from her, the TOI report said.

A rape case was filed against the accused by the Mangalwara police, who are hunting for him. According to the police, the woman who hails from a neighbouring district, did her MBBS from a foreign country and was looking for an internship.

This is when she came in contact with the accused, who she said allegedly promised her to secure an internship and lured her into the trap. He then asked the woman to meet him at a hotel, to which she agreed. She arrived in Bhopal on September 17 and was allegedly raped by the accused at the hotel, where she went to meet him to discuss internship opportunity.
