Bhopal: Clash Erupts Between Family Members, Doctors After Patient Dies At Hamidia hospital

A senior police officer said woman’s relatives lodged a complaint against the unidentified doctors. The relatives alleged that they were thrashed by the doctors and medical staff.

A clash took place between doctors and family members following the death of a patient at Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal. The police have registered a case into the matter.

The police said a 60-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital with a complaint of blood pressure and sugar with other ailments. The woman died around 1 am following which a clash broke out between the relatives and doctors. 

A senior police officer said woman’s relatives lodged a complaint against the unidentified doctors. The relatives alleged that they were thrashed by the doctors and medical staff. On the other hand, the doctors have also filed a complaint against the family members of the deceased.

The President of the Junior Doctors’ Association said that 50-60 attendants entered the ICU and started beating the doctors and other medical staff. He alleged that a doctor sustained a head injury during the clash. 

He said that the doctors would submit a memorandum to the hospital administration while demanding the security of the doctor and other medical staff.
