Bhiwandi Building Collapse: At least 7 people died on Monday in building collapse in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra. Two laborers are feared trapped in the debris, according to the sources.
After the Bhiwandi Vardaman Building accident in Thane, Maharashtra on 29th April, the rescue operation is going on for the last 34 hours. Presently 4 teams of NDRF are working under NDRF Commander Deepak Tiwari. So far 7 people have died and 12 people have been rescued.

Unfortunate incidents
The incident is being reported from Walpada area of Bhiwandi. The local people called the fire department and the emergency department and informed about the accident. After the information, the fire brigade team and NDRF team, police reached the spot and got involved in relief work.
According to reports, the G-2 building in Vardhaman compound of Kailasnagar (Valpada) collapsed at around 2 pm. About three to four families lived on the second floor of the building. Workers were working on the lower floor. It is feared that all these people are buried under the debris of the building.
At present, the fire brigade, NDRF contingent has once again started the rescue work on a war footing this morning. The debris of the building is being removed and people are being evacuated from under it. Twelve people pulled out from under the debris have been admitted to a nearby hospital. The accident victim building is said to be very old.
The toll in the building collapse at Bhiwandi in Maharashtra’s Thane district has risen to 7 on May 1. Rescue operation is continued and more bodies are pulled out from debris, official said.
The exact number of people who might still be trapped under the rubble is not known, an official said.
The owner of the ill-fated building situated in Wardhaman Compound in Valpada in Mankoli area has been detained, officials added.
