'Bharat Jodo Yatra' may end on Republic Day: Sources

New Delhi: After Nanded and Hingoli districts, the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ has reached Maharashtra’s Washim. On Wednesday, Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other supporters left camp in the early morning continuing their foot march.

Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi had started the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ on September 7 which aimed to revive the grand-old party across the nation. The foot march which started from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu will conclude in Srinagar, Kashmir.
The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ has already covered several states including Telangana, Kerala and  Andhra Pradesh.
During its journey, a number of public addresses will be held. Gandhi covers approximately 25 kilo meter each day and talks with those who joins the ‘Yatra’ including local people.
The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ is currently in Maharashtra and will enter Madhya Pradesh on November 20.
A day earlier, Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh Tuesday said the ‘Padyatra’ is “above politics” and its impact will be visible in the elections of Lok Sabha 2024.
Said the General Secretary in-charge Communications, Congress: “Bharat Jodo Yatra is not connected with any vote bank. Its aims are above politics. This is a yatra of a political party and include political topics but its not to garner votes.”
“The Yatra will promote togetherness, it has connected our party… Its effects, if any, would show up during the 2024 elections,” he added. 
Addressing media persons, the Congress leader who is one of the key leaders involved in promoting the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ will all might claimed that the foot march is helping the party to reconnect with them whom have they forgotten after coming to the power.
“This Yatra is promoting door-to-door contact which we had forgotten. We had forgotten as we were in power, but we are remembering it with this Yatra now,” added Jairam Ramesh.
