New Delhi: Having just a day left of ending the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi unfurled the Tricolor at Lal Chwak in Srinagar of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday amid high security in the area. Today marks the 135th day of the ‘padyatra’ which will end tomorrow.

At the flah unfurling ceremony on historic clock tower at Lal Chawk, Gandhi was accompanied by Senior Congress leader and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

Rahul Gandhi has been given 3-tier security protection in Kashmir Valley today by Jammu and Kashmir Police. In view of the security drill, all the roads leading to the Lal Chawk was sealed last night already as well as vehicular movement was disallowed.

Earlier Congress President Malikarjun Kharge wrote to Home Minister Amit Shah after yesterday security issue during Barat Jodo Yatra at Qazigund Kashmir and sought his personal intervention for the comprehensive security of Barat Jodo Yatra in Kashmir and it’s concluding function at Srinagar on January 30.

After leaving from the Lal Chowk, the former congress chief will travel to Nehru Park in the Boulevard area of the city. It will mark an end to the 4,080-km walkathon, started from Kanyakumari on September 7 and traversed 75 districts across the country.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra will be concluded on January 30 at the Sher-e-Kashmir Maidan in Srinagar.

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said there will be a conference of all 23 opposition parties on January 30 and that will be the last function.
