Bhajan Lal Sharma on Friday took oath as the new Chief Minister of Rajasthan on his 57th birthday at Jaipur.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda, attended the oath-taking ceremony at Jaipur’s Ram Niwas Bagh. Diya Kumari from Vidhyadhar Nagar and Prem Chand Bairwa from Dudu sworn in as Deputy Chief Ministers of Rajasthan. Governor Kalraj Mishra administered the oath to the trio.

Before the ceremony, Prem Chand Bairwa offered prayers at the Moti Dungri Ganesh temple in Jaipur, reported news agency ANI. The Ram Niwas Bagh has undergone extensive security and seating arrangements, expecting a large audience for Bhajan Lal Sharma and his deputy’s oath-taking.

Scheduled for noon, the ceremony has invited central leaders and state chief ministers, as per a BJP spokesperson cited by ANI. Jaipur’s roads are adorned with posters showcasing various BJP-led Centre welfare schemes and leader cut-outs.
Ahead of the event, Sharma used social media platforms to extend a warm welcome to PM Modi, Shah, and Nadda, expressing happiness about their presence in Jaipur.

Meanwhile, BJP Rajasthan took to social media, wishing Sharma on his birthday, to which Sharma expressed gratitude for the birthday wishes. Sharma, having secured an impressive victory in the Sanganer assembly seat, has been a four-time State General Secretary for the BJP.
Diya Kumari
Diya Kumari, recently appointed as Rajasthan’s Deputy Chief Minister, embodies a multifaceted persona as an Indian princess, politician, socialite, and philanthropist. Prem Chand Bairwa
Prem Chand Bairwa is the current BJP MLA representing the Dudu constituency in Rajasthan. In the 2023 Rajasthan Assembly Election, Bairwa clinched victory by defeating Congress candidate Babulal Nagar with an impressive margin of 35,743 votes.
His political journey in Dudu reflects earlier successes. In the 2013 elections, Bairwa emerged victorious, triumphing over Congress candidate Hazari Lal Nagar with a substantial margin of 33,720 votes. However, in 2018, he encountered defeat against Congress candidate Babu Lal Nagar, trailing by a margin of 14,779 votes.
Chief Minister-Elect Selection
On December 12, during a crucial BJP legislature party meeting, Bhajan Lal Sharma, a newcomer MLA, was designated as the chief minister-elect. Notably, the meeting was attended by the party’s central observers, Rajnath Singh, Saroj Pandey, and Vinod Tawde.
Deputy Chief Ministers and Speaker Appointment
Alongside Sharma’s selection, Diya Kumari, the MLA from Vidhyadhar Nagar, and Bairwa, representing Dudu, were appointed as deputy chief ministers. Additionally, Vasudev Devnani, the MLA from Ajmer North, was nominated as the speaker of the assembly, forming the leadership core of the incoming administration.
BJP’s Victory
Following the November 25 assembly elections, the BJP secured a significant win, claiming 115 seats out of 199. In contrast, the Congress managed to secure 69 seats, marking a decisive victory for the BJP.
