New Delhi: Intensifying her attack at ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra Sunday strongly condemned Ethics Committee chief Vinod Sonkar. She accused the BJP leader, stationed as a committee head, for posing “sordid” questions in front of her when she appeared for cash-for-query case on November 2.
In her tweeet on X, the TMC leader warined the saffron party saying “before you push out women MPs with fake narrative…” This comes after the TMC MP attended an inquiry regarding allegedly taking money from businessman Darshan Hiranandani for asking questions about Adani Group.
“Also BJP – before you push out women MPs with fake narrative remember I have EXACT transcript of record in Ethics Committee verbatim. Chairman’s cheap sordid irrelevant questions, Opposition’s protests, my protests – all there in offical black & white. Besharam and Behuda,” wrote Moitra on her official X account.
Continuing her stike at the BJP, the Trinamool leader accused the former of framing false criminal charges against her. “Shaking in my skin to know BJP planning crminal cases against me. Welcome them – only know that CBI and ED need to file FIR against Adani for ₹13,0000 crore coal scam before they question how many pairs of shoes I have.”

Moitra Claims Being Approached By Gautam Adani, Nishikant Dubey Takes Jibe
In one of the episodes of the case so far, Moitra alleged that she was approached by industrialist Gautam Adani through two Lok Sabha MPs to have a deal, which she said, she refused. While talking to India Today, the TMC leader said Gautam Adani approached her and offered money for not asking questions.
To which, BJP leader Nishikant Dubey, who had lodged a complaint against Moitra in cash-for-query case with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, said she took bribe from businessman Darshan Hiranandani but not Gautam Adani. While filing the complaint, Dubey cited “evidence” furnished by her former friend Jai Anant Dehadrai.
“I have become a fan of Mahua Moitra’s honesty. She kicked away Adani’s offer for Hiranandani?” wrote Dubey on X.
Meanwhile, in an explosive revelations, businessman Darshan Hiranandani submitted an affidavit where he claimed he gave expensive gifts and Moitra accepted them. He said the gifts were sent to the TMC leader for allowing him to post questions on the Lok Sabha’s official website, using her login credentials.
Moitra clearly dismissed the charges and said “he (Hiranandani) was forced to sign a white paper.”
