Bengaluru’s Taj West End Hotel Receives Bomb Threat, Authorities Launch Probe

Bengaluru police confirmed that a bomb threat at the Taj West End Hotel was a hoax. The luxury hotel, often frequented by political leaders, athletes, and celebrities, received an email warning of explosives on the premises.

Immediate Police Response

The hotel staff, upon receiving the email, immediately alerted their superiors, who then contacted the police. A team from the jurisdictional High Grounds police station, along with a bomb disposal squad and anti-sabotage unit, was dispatched to the scene to secure the area.

Threat Deemed a Hoax

After a thorough search, the police declared the threat to be false. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central), Shekhar H Tekkannavar, confirmed, "Our bomb detection and disposal squad (BDDS) and anti-sabotage check (ASC) team inspected the premises and determined it was a hoax."

Investigation Launched

The police are now investigating the origin of the hoax email and have taken a formal complaint to trace the individuals responsible.
