Bengaluru is in its way to development. It is going to transform itself into a city like Tokyo and Singapore. The dream project of Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar’s which is a underground tunnel for connecting the city and deal with the traffic related issue. He project is expected to begin next year and work of it is to get completed in time span of three years, according to official involved in the project, as reported by News 18.
Benefits From The Project
The underground tunnel will be 18-km long, as reported by News 18. Bengaluru dealing with a traffic issue needed a project which can ease the traffic related problem in the city.
The project will cut down the travel time from South Bengaluru to Central Bengaluru. It will almost cut 50% of travel time, which is 60-90 minutes to 20-40 minutes.
Cost Of The Project
The tunnel project will ease traffic congestion and make travel comfortable for commuters. The cost of this project will be around Rupees 16,500 crore. The project will ease travel in other route connecting in the city.
As reported by News 18, an official stated that, their aim is to construct a seamless corridor that will enhance driving experience of the commuters.
The project is seen as a game changer for the city. It will be a great route for traffic management. The tunnel will have 5 major entry and exit points. This includes, Karnataka State Reserve Police quarters which is near Central Silk Board, Bengaluru Gold Club, Lalbagh, Palace Ground and the vacant government land which is near Esteem Mall located in Hebbal.
Interchanges In The Route
Interchanges in the route are pointed at important locations, which includes, KR Puram, Ballari Road, Mekri Circle and Race Course Road.
DK Shivakumar On This Project
Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar stated that the work of the underground tunnel will get started by first half of 2025. He calls it a great idea as tis project don’t need any land acquisition or demolition.
