A 40-year-old software engineer was found dead in his apartment in Gangarahalli, North Bengaluru. This incident is suspected to be a case of suicide. The incident took place between 6 pm and 9 pm on April 4. The deceased, Prashanth Nar, had been living alone for the past year following his separation from his wife, stemming from marital issues. No suicide note was found at the scene.
In the complaint submitted by his father MN Kutty, a 77-year-old retired canteen manager of the Indian Armed Forces described his son Prashanth as his second child who worked for a widely known private software firm. He was married to Pooja Nair for 12 years, and they have an eight-year-old daughter. The family had been living in Hennur, but marital problems began surfacing over a year ago. Although elders tried to mediate, Prashanth eventually chose to live separately and moved into an apartment in Ganigarahalli.
Kutty got notified about his son’s death at 9 pm before discovering his hanging body in the hall after arriving at the apartment. Police authorities confirmed that Prashanth who came from Kerala experienced emotional distress from his problems. The family eliminated any possibility of crime being the cause of death. The medical investigators released the deceased body to their family after completing the autopsy procedure. The Soladevanahalli police force established an unnatural death case before starting their investigative procedures.
