In a shocking incident, a techie was killed over a trivial issue in Karnataka’s Bengaluru. The man allegedly asked the techie to get cigarettes for him, and upon refusal, he allegedly rammed his car into techie’s bike from behind. The police have arrested the accused and registered a case into the matter.
Incident took place on May 10
According to NDTV, the incident occurred on May 10 at Vasanthapura cross on Kanakpura road. The accused has been identified as 31-year-old Prateek, while the deceased has been identified as HN Sanjay.
Accused asked Sanjay to fetch cigarettes
The police said Sanjay and his friend, Chetan, were smoking on a roadside when the accused Prateek also reached the spot. He asked Sanjay to get cigarettes for him to which he refused. A verbal spat took place between them which turned ugly. Locals intervened to calm down both sides. A few minutes later, Sanjay and Chetan were heading back to the office.
Sanjay succumbed to his injuries
Upset with his refusal, Prateek went to his car and rammed Sanjay’s bike from behind. He sustained a severe head injury. He was taken to hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Chetan also sustained injuries in the incident and is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The police have examined the CCTV footage, and a murder case has been registered. The report said that the accused was under the influence of alcohol, and he was returning home after attending a party.

One person was killed and eight others were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on the Singupuram highway in Srikakulam district early Saturday morning.
Private bus collided with a lorry
The accident occurred when a private bus operated by Kambheswari Travels, travelling from Koraput in Odisha to Berhampur, collided with a lorry moving ahead of it.
Three of the eight injured passengers are currently receiving treatment
According to Srikakulam Rural Station Inspector Jayaram, “The bus collided with a lorry moving ahead of it. Due to the impact, eight people, including the bus driver, sustained injuries. Fortunately, all injuries were minor. Three of the eight injured passengers are currently receiving treatment in Srikakulam.”
Following the initial crash, a granite-laden lorry approaching from behind applied sudden brakes upon witnessing the accident. This caused the granite stones to shift forward, severely damaging the lorry. Tragically, the lorry driver lost his life in the crash, officials said in a statement.
