A distressing video has emerged on social media showing Bengaluru policemen delaying medical assistance for an injured accident victim while debating who should transport him to the hospital. The footage, which surfaced recently, captures an injured man in a blue kurta lying on the road with visible blood from his ear, while two policemen argue over responsibility for his transport.
Despite urgent pleas from bystanders to act swiftly, the policemen, one from the Bangalore Traffic Police and the other from the Law and Order Department, refused to use their Hoysala vehicle to take the victim to the hospital. This inaction led local residents to step in, transporting the injured man to a private hospital.

The victim, identified as Rahul from Srinagar, was involved in the accident on the night of July 15. He lost control of his vehicle after hitting a road hump while returning home from a friend’s place. Rahul is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Sheshadripuram and is reported to be recovering.
The Bengaluru North Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) has since launched an inquiry into the incident. According to a statement from the DCP’s office, ‘The incident occurred at midnight on July 15. It was a self-skid accident. Traffic personnel attended to it and called an ambulance. We have initiated an inquiry into the Hoysala staff and will take appropriate action. An FIR has been lodged at the traffic police station, and the victim is recovering in the hospital.’
The case has sparked outrage, highlighting issues of accountability and emergency response within the Bengaluru police force.
