Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport has surpassed the 40 million passenger milestone in 2024. According to Airport Council International classification, the Airport got the status of the large airport worldwide.
About The Passenger Traffic
The airport saw a growth in terms of number of passengers. It went from 37.2 million in 2023 to 40.73 million in the year 2024. This makes a good increase in the number of passengers.
Kempegowda International Airport saw the busiest day in 2024 on October 20. The day witnessed 1,26,532 passengers.
The Air Traffic Movement at the Kempegowda International Airport averaged 723 per day. The highest was 782 on October 17, 2024.
By the end of year 2024, Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru gave a connection to the 30 international places, 75 domestic. Not only this but 11 domestic route were added and four international one in 2024.
This year the busiest route were the Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Pune.

Achievements In Cargo Business
The airport also saw a growth in cargo business. It processed 4,96,227 metric tone in 2024. This makes a 17 percent increase from the previous year. The International Cargo volume saw increase by 23% on the other hand the domestic cargo witnessed a 9% growth.
