Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, Karnataka, received a bomb threat email on February 9, said officials on Wednesday, adding that a case has been registered and multiple teams were formed to investigate.
Sajith VJ, deputy commissioner of police, North-East Bengaluru, said, “Around two days back, the Kempegowda International Airport received a bomb threat email. We have registered a case following the information, and further investigation is underway,” he told the media.
The threat was received before the Aero India 2025 event, where several international delegates, defence companies, and aviation experts are expected to join. Following the threat, police increased the security.
The event features an extensive exhibition highlighting breakthroughs in helicopters, fighter jets, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and missile defence systems.
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Indian defence giants, are showcasing cutting-edge innovations, including the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (Tejas) and the Advanced Light Helicopter (Dhruv).
