Former Maharashtra and NCP Leader Baba Siddique was shot dead in Bandra East on Saturday evening. Siddique died at the age of 66. He was a widely known figure in Maharashtra’s political landscape. He held ministerial post and several other important position which includes president of the Bandra taluka of BYC, Chairperson of the Mumbai Regional Congress, Mumbai Municipal Corporation Councillor. He was also an MLA for three consecutive terms in 1999, 2004 and 2009. He was in Congress earlier and had joined the NCP led by Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar on February 2024.

His tragic death has sent shockwave across the country. He was an eminent personality and known for his connection with Bollywood celebrities. His famous Iftar parties used to be the talk of the town. His son, Zeeshan Siddique is an MLA from Bandra East.

Baba Siddique’s Net Worth

According to the sources, Baba Siddique’s net worth amounts to approximately Rs 30 crores as of 2022. In the affidavit submitted to the Election Commission, he had declared total assets amounting to Rs 76 Crore and total liabilities of Rs 23 crore. He had mentioned about luxury cars and jewellery in the affidavit. As per the media reports, Siddique owned collection of Mercedes-Benz, and valuable assets of gold and diamond. He also had a vast real estate which includes commercial units, agricultural plots and residential properties.

Reportedly, in 2018, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had seized 33 flats worth Rs 462 crore belonging Baba Siddiqui who was then a Congress leader and Pyramid Developers in Mumbai. The ED has informed that the action was taken in connection with the investigation of alleged irregularities and money laundering in the slum rehabilitation scheme in Bandra area of ​​Mumbai.
