Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde has announced funeral for NCP leader Baba Siddique to be held with full state honours. He has instructed the officials about the same. CMO Maharashtra announced it on X.
Baba Siddique served as minister in the Maharashtra government during 2004-2008 and also as chairman of Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA)
Former Maharashtra Minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot dead on Saturday evening in Bandra. He was taken to the Lilavati Hospital, but succumbed to the gunshots.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had called the incident unfortunate, and vowed to take strict action against the shooters. He had informed that Mumbai Police were given instructions to look into the case.

Shinde said, “Very strict and strong action will be taken against all three accused. Two accused were arrested and one is still at large. Nobody can take law and order in their hands. Given instructions to Mumbai police.”
Maharashtra Deputy CM and NCP leader Ajit Pawar said that he is monitoring the situation along with CM Shinde. Pawar informed that at 8:30 PM today, a funeral will be arranged with full state honour at Bada Qabrastan, in Mumbai lines. “I cannot believe the incident which occurred yesterday in Mumbai. He was one of our leaders and has worked for years in Mumbai. He was also in Congress and was a three-time MLA. He worked as a minister as well. The police department started its investigation very soon. Two people have been arrested. 5 teams have been formed and sent to different states,” added Pawar.
