New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh Monday aimed at former party veteran Ghulam Nabi Azad who alleged that Gandhi family had ties with “undesirable businessmen.”
Congress’ General Secretary in-charge Communications Ramesh tweeted a post saying, “With every passing day, Ghulam Nabi Azad falls to new depths to demonstrate his true character and his loyalty to Mr. Modi. His contemptible statements on the Congress leadership reflect his desperation to remain relevant. I can only say that he is PATHETIC.”

Jairam Ramesh’s remarks came after Azad in an interview to a news channel claimed that he can list 10 “people who are undesirable businessmen” whom Congress leader Rahul Gandhi meet when the latter goes abroad.
Azad called out Rahul Gandhi for a tweet that alleged the former Congress leader of having connection with Indian business giant Gautam Adani. Azad said, “It’s a shame.”

“I have never any association with any businessman whereas their entire family has assocaition with businessmen, including him (Rahul). I can give you 10 examples of where he would go even outside the country, to meet people who are undesirable businessmen,” said Ghulam Nabi Azad to the interviewer while asserting that he respected the Gandhi family immensely.
Due to launch of his autobiography, Azad has been attending a number of interview and slamming Congress and its leadership.
