Attention Passengers! Indian Railways Announces 7000 Festive-Special Trains For Diwali, Chhath | Full List

Indian Railways and Northern Railways in association other zonal railway have posted list of trains with their schedule on X. These trains will run from all the major railway stations in the country, like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru.

In view of the festive season and surge in number of train passengers, Indian Railways has announced festive special-trains. These special trains are 7000 in numbers and include clone trains which will cater to lakhs of passengers. Festive-special trains have been launched to ease the travel experiences of people during Diwali and Chhath Puja. These trains will run from all the major railway stations in the country, like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru. Indian Railways and Northern Railways in association other zonal railway have posted list of trains with their schedule on X. Along with this, the Indian Railways is actively monitoring the junctions through CCTV to avoid any unfortunate incident amid passengers rush. East Central Railway posted on X, “In view of the increasing number of rail passengers on the occasion of Puja, CCTV monitoring is being done 24 hours a day to ensure that there is no lapse in passenger safety.”

7000 Special Trains To Run

Speaking to ANI, Dilip Kumar, Executive Director of Information & Publicity, Railway Board said there is rise in number of passengers and arrangements have been made to facilitate the travel experience of people. He said, “The no. of passengers increased during the festive season of Diwali and Chhath… This year, railway has made elaborate arrangements. More than 7000 special trains have been arranged. This has generated more than one crore seats…We are also running clone trains on important routes… We have also made holding areas for the passengers.”

Dilip added, “The number of tourists increases in some important areas, important stations. Travellers come to Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in large numbers. And the railway has made a significant arrangement for them this year. We have arranged more than 7,000 trains this time and these trains are being run from all the important stations of the country, from Old Delhi, New Delhi, Anand Vihar, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru and Vishakhapatnam. Previously, we ran 4,300 special trains, so this time to provide better facilities we increased the number of special trains.”

He also mentioned about the deployment of RPF and CRPF for enhanced security measures at all the stations. Additionally, number of ticket counters at the stations have also been increased.

Earlier, on 25th October, General Manager of Northern Railway, Ashok Kumar Verma in a press conference informed that Northern Railway has made special arrangement during Diwali and Chhath Puja. Northern Railway has planned the highest number of 3144 trips so far from 01.10.2024 till 30.11.2024.

Indian Railways took to X to announce the list of Festival trains operating on 29th October. It wrote, “Kind Attention to All Passengers! Here’s the list of Festival Special Trains set to operate on 29th October 2024.

Passengers’ Reaction On Special-Festive Trains

Passengers have already started to take benefit of these special-festive trains. South Western Railway posted a video on X, where passengers can be seen thanking the railways for their initiative of special trains. It wrote, “Passengers expressing their gratitude towards Indian Railways for running special trains and making special arrangements to cater extra rush of passengers on the eve of Deepavali and Chhath festivals.”
