Investigation Underway

Given the involvement of a military train, authorities are maintaining strict confidentiality about the details of the investigation.

Use of Expired Fog Detonators
Officials clarified that the detonators used were fog detonators, not those based on RDX. Typically, fog detonators are placed on railway tracks to produce sound, alerting train pilots during foggy conditions. However, in this case, the miscreants managed to acquire expired detonators and placed ten of them on the track simultaneously. The detonators were not authorized or placed by railway authorities, raising further concerns about how they were obtained.
Expanding the Investigation
The attempted attack took place at 1:48 pm on September 18, targeting a military special train traveling from Jammu and Kashmir to Karnataka. On Saturday afternoon, officials from the police department, including DSP, Nepanagar SDOP, and station authorities, inspected the scene, while later in the evening, teams from the NIA, ATS, and other intelligence agencies arrived in Khandwa to broaden the investigation into the incident.
The authorities are now working to identify the individuals responsible for this failed attempt and to prevent any future threats to military and civilian trains.
