An investigation has begun to ascertain the cause of the incident. Initial reports suggest a technical fault in the ropeway. This accident has raised serious questions on the security arrangements of the development work going on in Pavagadh. Pavagadh hill temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali and stands at a height of around 800 metres. Pilgrims either climb 2000 steps to reach the temple or use the cable cars.
