33-year-old Kamleshwar Dodiyar, the freshly elected MLA from Madhya Pradesh after winning the Sailana assembly seat in Ratlam district, has emerged as a notable figure, capturing attention for coming from slums and possessions. Yet, his recent limelight-stealing story has overshadowed his no-so-innocent deeds that are not widely known. It is a tale that demands attention. Dodiyar, not affiliated with either the BJP or the Congress, currently boasts an unblemished image, garnering public sympathy, for his modest beginnings, devoid of a car but equipped with a bike. During his travels from Ratlam to Bhopal, he received a cap and a shawl, painting him as a seemingly innocent figure. However, the reality seems far from such a portrayal.
Exploited a Girl And Threatened To Kill Her
In a recent incident earlier this year, a specialized police team apprehended Kamleshwar Dodiyar in the Dungarpur area of Rajasthan. He faced accusations of physically exploiting a girl under the pretext of marriage and issuing threats of harm. Remaining a fugitive for nearly two months, authorities offered a reward of three thousand rupees for information leading to his capture.
As per police reports, in November 2022, a girl lodged a written complaint with the Superintendent of Police, alleging that Dodiyar had engaged in a physical relationship with her for four years, promising marriage. Dodiyar further exacerbated the situation by posting photographs with her on social media, causing her public disgrace. When confronted, Dodiyar not only declined to marry her but also made menacing threats against her life. Subsequently, he planned to marry another girl.
Was Absconded And Took refuge Across Dense Forests
Following the complaint, the police compelled the girl to provide her testimony under Section 164 in court. Consequently, on November 21, 2022, a case was filed against Kamleshwar Dodiyar at the Mahila Police Station, citing sections 376 (2) N, 469, 506, 294, and 500 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Evading capture, Dodiyar took refuge, hiding across the dense forests and hilly terrains of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Despite multiple attempts by the police to apprehend him, he continually evaded capture.
However, information from a reliable source pinpointed his location in the Dungarpur area. Acting swiftly, the team, led by Sailana police, laid a successful siege and detained him.
Dodiyar’s Crime Records
Adding to the gravity of the situation, Dodiyar carries a record of 12 cases, including assault, obstruction of government work, rebellion, violation of Section 144, and even rape allegations. This portrait of our newly elected MLA, aiming to instruct the Chief Minister on governing, reveals a far more complex narrative than his initial portrayal suggests.
