Guwahati: The very first day of the Budget session of the Assam Assembly on Friday saw a major uproar by opposition parties on an alleged Maharashtra MLAs statement about dog meat eating habits of the people of Assam.
The matter created a noisy scene in Assam’s Assembly, with opposition leaders shouting slogans during Governor Gulab Chand Kataria’s speech and later walking out of the house.
The opposition party leaders were seen standing up and asking what action Assam’s government has taken against Maharashtra MLA.
Amid the disruption, The Governor had to finish his speech in just 15 minutes. Later, all the opposition leaders walked out of the Assembly hall.
Maharashtra Prahar Janshakti Party MLA Bachchu kudu had reportedly given a statement that stray dogs should be sent to Assam to control their rising population.
Bachchu Kadu this statement led to a huge disturbance in Assams’s Assembly.
