Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that he had met Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) and discussed the issue of Uniform Civil Code (UCC).

The Muslim leader said that he infomed KCR that it is not the issue of muslims only but it would also impact the christian community too.

“UCC will be introduced, the pluralism of the nation will be finished which is not a good thing. PM Modi, BJP and RSS don’t like pluralism which is the beauty of our nation,” said Owaisi. 

AIMIM leader informed that Telangana CM has assured to oppose the UCC.

Talking to the reporters after meeting with Telangana CM, Owaisi appealed to Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy to oppose the code. 

The talk around UCC was initiated again after Prime Minister Modi commented over it while addressing a public gathering in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. 

Representatives of especially Muslim and Tribal communities are opposing the proposed law saying that it may destroy their religious and cultural beliefs.
