During a recent visit to Bahrain, Indian political leader Asaduddin Owaisi used the term ‘Takfiri’ to describe Pakistan-based terror groups, linking them to ISIS and sending a clear warning to Arab nations.
‘Takfiri’ is a word used by extremist groups like ISIS to label other Muslims as non-believers, which they use to justify violence even against fellow Muslims. Owaisi used this term to show that some Pakistan-based terror groups use similar extremist thinking.
Arab countries, many of whom have suffered from ISIS violence, are deeply concerned about any group that promotes Takfiri ideology. By using this term, Owaisi aimed to make Arab nations more cautious of Pakistan’s role in supporting or sheltering such dangerous groups.
Owaisi said that, like ISIS, Pakistan also believes in Takfiri ideas and kills innocent people, even though Islam does not allow this.
