Arvind Kejriwal emphasized that they would ensure 24-hour electricity across the country, citing the nation’s capacity to generate 3 lakh MW of electricity while the usage stands at only 2 lakh MW. Drawing from their experiences in Delhi and Punjab, they aim to replicate this success nationwide. Additionally, they plan to offer up to 200 units of free electricity to all those in need, despite the estimated cost of Rs 1.25 lakh crore, which they believe can be managed.
The AAP chief outlined their commitment to providing high-quality and free education for all, ensuring that government schools surpass the standards set by private institutions. This initiative is estimated to require Rs 5 lakh crores, with state governments contributing Rs 2.5 lakh crores and the central government providing the remaining Rs 2.5 crore.
The 10 guarantees announced by Arvind Kejriwal are as follows:
1. Guarantee of electricity: Ensuring 24-hour electricity supply with the first 200 units of power free across the country.
2. Guarantee of education: Promising arrangements for free education for all and making government schools better than private schools.
3. Guarantee of health: Building infrastructure and facilities at government hospitals to match those of private hospitals.
4. Guarantee of land reclamation from China: Commitment to reclaiming India’s land from China and giving the army a free hand in this endeavor.
5. Guarantee to end Agniveer scheme: Scrapping the Agniveer scheme launched by the Modi government.
6. Guarantee of MSP: Ensuring farmers receive the full support price for their produce.
7. Guarantee of statehood: Working towards achieving full statehood for Delhi.
8. Guarantee of employment: Pledging to create 2 crore jobs every year.
9. Guarantee against corruption: Vowing to eliminate the practice of providing safe havens to corrupt individuals and freeing the country from corruption.
10. Guarantee on GST: Plans to simplify the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and aiming to surpass trade expectations.
