The confrontation unfolded when terrorists attacked two army vehicles passing through Dera Ki Gali in Rajouri’s Poonch region at 3:45 pm. As reported by NDTV, a spokesperson for the defense said, “A coordinated operation, initiated on solid intelligence, was launched in the broader vicinity of DKG last night. Today, contact with the suspects was established, leading to an ongoing encounter,”.

Those acquainted with the situation revealed that ambulances and reinforcements from 48 RR and 43 RR have been swiftly dispatched to the location. An intelligence officer noted, “Public movement in the area has been restricted.” Substantial reinforcements were mobilized, initiating a large-scale anti-terrorist operation.

The area between Dhera Ki Gali and Bufliaz, where the attack occurred on Thursday, is heavily wooded and connects to the Chamrer and Bhata Dhurian forests, where an ambush on an Army vehicle resulted in the loss of five soldiers on April 20 this year.

Last month, two Captains and three other soldiers lost their lives during an anti-terror operation in Rajouri’s Kalakote. The area has witnessed repeated attacks on the army and has become a focal point for terrorist activities.
