The Ministry of Ayush has announced the opening of nominations for the prestigious Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards (PMYA) 2025, coinciding with the International Day of Yoga (IDY 2025). According to an official release, these awards honor individuals and organizations that have made significant and sustained contributions to the promotion and development of Yoga, both in India and globally.
Motto Of The Award
Established to recognize Yoga’s profound impact on society, the Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards celebrate exemplary contributions in the field. The initiative reinforces Yoga’s role in disease prevention, health promotion, and the management of lifestyle-related disorders.

Endorsed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, these awards reflect the government’s commitment to acknowledging and celebrating contributions that have strengthened the practice and awareness of Yoga worldwide.
Award Categories & Rewards
The awards will be presented in four categories:
National Individual
National Organization
International Individual
International Organization
Each winner will receive a trophy, a certificate, and a cash award of ₹25 lakh.
Eligibility Criteria
Individuals must be 40 years or older
A minimum of 20 years of dedicated service in Yoga promotion
Nominations can be submitted via the MyGov platform (https://innovateindia.mygov.in/pm-yoga-awards-2025/) on or before March 31, 2025, the Ministry said.
The link will also be available on the Ministry of Ayush’s website and the websites of its autonomous bodies. Entities can apply directly or be nominated by a prominent Yoga organization.
Each applicant/nominee can apply for only one category (National or International) per year.
Procedure
A screening committee, constituted by the Ministry of Ayush, will meticulously review all applications and shortlist a maximum of 50 candidates per award category for further evaluation. The final selection will be made by a jury comprising eminent personalities from various fields, serving as the apex decision-making body.
“The Ministry of Ayush remains committed to the development and promotion of India’s traditional systems of medicine and wellness, including Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa, and Homeopathy (AYUSH),” the official release stated.
