Another murder like the Saurabh Rajput case has occurred in Behsuma, Meerut. A woman, Ravita, and her lover, Amarjeet, killed her husband, Amit Kashyap (Mickey), by strangling him. To make it look like an accident, they placed a venomous snake on his bed.
Initially, it appeared that Amit died from snake bites , as there were ten marks on his body. His family called a snake catcher, who removed the snake. However, the postmortem revealed Amit died from asphyxiation, not snake bites. Police arrested both suspects and uncovered the shocking truth late on Wednesday.
Postmortem Report Reveals Truth
On Wednesday, the postmortem report showed that Amit didn’t die from a snake bite, but due to suffocation. This made the police suspect murder. They started a deeper investigation and questioned Amits’s wife, Ravita, and her lover, Amarjeet . At first, both tried to mislead the police, but later they confessed to the crime.
Snake Bought to Fake the Accident
According to the police, Amarjeet bought a venomous viper snake for ₹1,000 from a snake charmer in Mahmoodpur Sikheda village. At night, while Amit was sleeping, they strangled him to death and placed the snake under his body.The snake bit Amit several times. In the morning, Ravita pretended that Amit had died from a snake bite.
Villagers Already Suspected the Affair
Villagers were already aware of Ravita and Amarjeet’s love affair. After Amit’s sudden death, they grew suspicious. Although bite marks and a snake under the body made the family believe it was a snakebite, villagers didn’t buy it. This led to a postmortem being done.
Love Affair Behind the Murder
Amit and Amarjeet used to work together. Over time, Amarjeet got close to Amit’s wife, Ravita. They had been in a relationship for a year. Amit had started to suspect their affair and was against it. To get rid of him, Ravita and Amarjeet planned the murder.
Both Ravita and Amarjeet also searched Google and YouTube to find ways to kill someone without getting caught. They not only planned the murder but also made a plan to escape suspicion.
Police Investigation Ongoing
Police have taken both accused into custody for questioning. SSP Dr. Vipin Tada said the full case will be revealed on Thursday.
