In Bihar, another under-construction bridge has collapsed today. This morning, a bridge being built in Motihari suddenly crumbled. People recorded videos of the incident and reported it to the police. This is the third bridge collapse in seven days, following incidents in Araria and Siwan. About 40 percent of the bridge was destroyed in this incident.
The bridge was being constructed on the road from Amawa to Chainpur station in the Ghorasahan area of Motihari, Bihar with a budget of approximately 1.5 crore rupees. However, in an instant, this investment has gone to waste. The construction work had been ongoing for several days, but the sudden collapse has angered the local population. They have accused the government and the administration of using substandard construction materials and have demanded action.

Under-Construction Bridges Tarnishing Bihar CM’s Reputation
It should be noted that prior to Motihari, under-construction bridges in Araria and Siwan have also collapsed. This is the third bridge to fall within seven days before becoming operational, causing significant embarrassment for the Nitish government. The bridge in Motihari was being constructed by Dhirendra Construction Company. Fortunately, the incident occurred at night, so there were no casualties.
Previously, in Siwan, a bridge over the Gandak canal suddenly collapsed. This bridge was built to connect the village of Ramgarha in Siwan with the town of Daraonda and the Patedhi market, but it collapsed due to a sudden surge in the river’s water level. Additionally, in Araria, a bridge at Parkiya Ghat over the Bakra river, built at a cost of approximately 12 crore rupees, collapsed before it could be inaugurated.
