A 16-year-old girl died after giving birth to a child in a cesarean surgery in Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh, said police. According to police the incident came to light when teachers of minor noticed that she was pregnant and informed her parents. Later, when the girl’s condition deteriorated, her parents rushed the girl to a hospital, and she was declared pregnant.
Later, when the girl’s condition deteriorated again, she was shifted to another hospital in Chittoor, where doctors performed a cesarean surgery (C-section). Her parents informed cops that they did not realise that their daughter was pregnant. They thought it was overweight.
Cops were informed that her parents only came to know about the pregnancy after visiting the hospital. Her parents filed a complaint at a local police station in Andhra Pradesh and demanded an investigation to nab the suspect.
A C-section, or caesarean section, is a medical operation in which a baby is delivered through incisions in the mother’s belly and uterus. It is a big operation that is normally only conducted when it is the safest option for the mother and baby. According to research, the C-Section surgery was rise in India between 2016 to 2021
