In a tragic incident in Andhra Pradesh, a man brutally stabbed a woman to death after she rejected his proposal, before attempting to take his own life. The assailant, identified as Yesuratnam, flew into a rage in Eluru when the victim, Jakku Ratna Grace (22), turned down his advances.

Eyewitnesses reported that Yesuratnam, consumed by anger, confronted Grace and mercilessly stabbed her multiple times with a knife, shocking bystanders with the ferocity of the attack.

Following the brutal assault, Yesuratnam tried to end his own life, underscoring the intensity of his emotional turmoil. Swift action by authorities led to his apprehension, and he was promptly rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.

Senior police official Srinivasa Rao stated, “We received the information around 12:40 pm, and upon arrival, we discovered that the man had also attempted to take his own life. We promptly transported him to the hospital, while unfortunately, the victim, Grace, succumbed to the attack by Yesuratnam.”

This distressing incident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers posed by uncontrolled emotions and the devastating consequences of rejection. Authorities are actively investigating Yesuratnam’s mental state and past behavior to comprehend the factors that culminated in such a tragic outcome.
