Guntur, Andhra Pradesh: In a shocking incident, a 23-year-old double rape accused named Manju, released on bail allegedly raped and murdered a woman in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district. The horrifying incident that unfolded on Saturday came to light on the 2nd of February. According to Inspector G. Srinivasa Rao of Prathipadu Mandal, Manju assaulted a woman in 2023 and he was also arrested for raping another woman.
How Did The Crime Unfold?
Police said that the convicted felon reportedly entered the 63-year-old victim’s house last Saturday night. After raping and killing her, he immediately fled the scene. Her death came to light the following day when her co-workers went to check on her at her home when she did not turn up for work, reports stated.
Police arrived at the crime spot after receiving information about the crime. A case of suspicious death was registered later. Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused and his elder brother P. Samba, present at the same crime spot, were under the influence of alcohol.
Accused On Run
Fingerprints and circumstantial proof against the accused Manju confirmed that the woman was raped and murdered. The police are trying to track down the accused who is currently on the run.
55-Year-Old Woman Raped On Train In Bandra
In yet another shocking incident that unfolded on Saturday night, a 55-year-old woman who came from Haridwar via train was allegedly raped by a porter at Mumbai’s Bandra terminus. The incident reportedly occurred when the accused found the woman resting on a vacant train at the terminus and sexually assaulted her.
According to officials, the accused porter was present on a second train. The incident came to light after the woman’s relative complained to the railway police. Following the incident, an inquiry was set up and the accused was arrested.
