Andhra Pradesh: Four Children Die Of Suffocation In Locked Car; What Led To The Tragedy?

The children were retrieved after breaking the car's windows, however, they were all dead by that time due to suffocation. The deceased children were identified as two 8-year-olds and two 6-year-olds, who belonged to the same village.

Andhra Pradesh: A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram rural mandal on Sunday, where four children died of asphyxiation in a locked car. Among the four children were three girls, who accidentally got locked in a car parked in Dwarapudi village. According to the deceased’s family, they found the kids in the vehicle in the evening after frantically searching for more than three hours in the village and other surrounding areas.

The children were retrieved after breaking the car’s windows, however, they were all dead by that time due to suffocation. The deceased children were identified as two 8-year-olds and two 6-year-olds, who belonged to the same village. According to reports, an unknown person had parked his car two days ago near Dwarapudi village and forgot to check if the vehicle was locked.

On Sunday, the four children who were playing entered the car to take shelter from the rainfall. What happened next was heart-wrenching! The door of the car locked accidentally. The kids later died of suffocation after experiencing the searing heat and lack of oxygen. They went unnoticed for several hours. Meanwhile, their family members believed that the children were playing nearby but started searching frantically upon realization.

The children were later rushed to the Government General Hospital (GGH) in Vizianagaram after being rescued. Unfortunately, they had already died due to suffocation, the doctors confirmed. Following the disturbing incident, an eerie silence gripped the Dwarapudi village and neighbouring areas. The tragic loss of young lives left the families of the children completely devastated. Vizianagaram Rural Police launched a probe after receiving information from residents. Meanwhile, the deceased’s bodies were sent for a post-mortem examination.
