At least eight workers died on Sunday, as a result of an explosion at a fireworks manufacturing plant in Anakapalli district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, said officials.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said he was shocked by the incident and added that all of the injured were shifted to the hospital, where they are being treated. “Eight people - all of them were men except for two women - died and seven others suffered injuries in the fire accident,” said Home Minister V. Anitha to PTI.

Earlier this month, a similar incident occurred in the Banaskantha district of the Indian state of Gujarat, where seven people were killed, according to authorities, in an explosion at a firecrackers factory that resulted in a fire and parts of the building collapsing, near the town of Deesa.
