Amul Triumphs In Legal Dispute: Delhi High Court Directs Noida Woman To Take Down Post
Noida: Following the finger-in-the-ice-cream incident in Mumbai, the centipede-in-ice-cream case in Noida is now drawing significant attention. A woman claimed she found a centipede in her ice cream, drawing media attention and making headlines. Now, the High Court has ruled in favor of Amul. The Delhi High Court has also ordered the Noida woman to remove her social media post alleging a centipede in the tub of Amul ice cream.
The court issued a restraining order preventing the woman from making similar claims on social media until further notice. The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, which markets Amul products, initiated the legal action. The company argued that the allegation was baseless, emphasizing that their stringent quality control makes it nearly impossible for foreign objects to be present in their ice cream. Despite being given multiple opportunities by the court to substantiate her claim, the woman did not participate in the legal proceedings or allow the disputed ice cream tub to be examined.
Court Ruled In Favor Of Amul
As a result, the court ruled in favor of Amul, emphasizing the company's strict safety standards and procedures that ensure product integrity, as confirmed by their ISO certification and compliance with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India.
Deepa, a resident of Sector-12 in Noida, shared that her children wanted ice cream during a hot day, so she ordered Amul Vanilla Magic ice cream for Rs 195 through Blinkit online. When she opened it, she saw a centipede crawling inside, which scared her. She immediately complained to Blinkit, which refunded her money. Blinkit customer care said Amul's manager would contact her, but she hasn't heard back yet. After the video went viral on social media, the food department sent samples for investigation. A team visited Deepa's house to gather information and then went to the online store to collect ice cream samples for testing.
