New Delhi: The National Security Act (NSA) has been invoked against Kahlistani sympathiser and ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh, informed Punjab IGP Sukhchain Singh Gill. He also added that a non-bailable warrant has been issued against him on March 18.

This comes after the Punjab and Haryana High Court reprimanded the Punjab government over the escape of Amritpal Singh despite having a strength of 80,000 police officials. The court said that it is an intelligence failure.
Amritpal Singh is a self-styled Sikh preacher who is on run and has been declared a fugitive by the Punjab Police. As per official sources, Singh was in close links with terrorist outfit ISI.
As per media reports, Singh is a loyalist to a UK-based Khalistani terrorist and trusted leader of the banned Babbar Khalsa International Paramjit Singh Pamma. Khanda often takes theoratical classes on how to radicalise Punjab youth.
Thousands of supporters staged the protest to demand the release of Amritpal Singh’s close aide Lovepreet Toofan, as reported earlier.
