New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah will hold a 2-day meeting with the Home Ministers of the states regarding the internal security of the country. In this meeting, the internal security of the country will be discussed. The meeting will be held on October 27-28 at Surajkund in Faridabad, Haryana.

Cooperative federalism is the underline

The meeting is being organized keeping in view the cooperative federalism which will bring more synergy in planning and coordination among various stakeholders.

Policy formulation for internal security will be discussed in this meeting. Issues like modernization of police forces, cyber crime management, increasing use of IT or information technology, land border management, coastal security, women safety, drug trafficking will be discussed in the two-day Chintan Shivir.

A government statement mentioned that the camp, in the spirit of cooperative federalism, would bring greater synergy in planning and coordination between various stakeholders at the Center and the state.

First of its kind Chintan Shivir

Government officials said this is the “first time” such an event will be attended by home secretaries and director generals of police (DGPs) of states and director generals of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Central Police Organizations (CPOs). Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the Chintan Shivir to be organized on internal security through video conferencing.

The suspense still remains on the participation of the DGP, including the home ministers and home secretaries of the non-BJP state, in this meeting. It is being told that West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Rajasthan can send their representatives to attend the conference.
