Amid Vinesh Phogat’s Congress Move, Brij Bhushan Singh Compares Hooda Family To Pandavas

Brij Bhushan Singh's remarks came a week after wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia joined the Congress party.

Former Lok Sabha MP and BJP leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on Sunday compared former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his family with the Pandavas of Mahabharata. Singh said that just like the Pandavas were never forgiven by the country for their actions, similarly, the Hooda family too will face permanent censure for alleged wrongdoing. He said, ‘During the Mahabharata, Draupadi was gambled away and the Pandavas lost. The country has still not forgiven them. Similarly, the Hooda family will not be forgiven for compromising the dignity of our sisters and daughters.’

Allegations By BJP Leader Brij Bhushan Singh

Singh’s remarks came a days after wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia joined the Congress party. Singh hinted that their protests against him last year were part of a larger conspiracy being pushed by the Congress and Hooda. The wrestlers had accused Singh of sexually harassing women wrestlers during his tenure as WFI chief.

Singh also talked about the cases on him and said, ‘There were three major cases, and every statement of mine was on camera.’ He claimed, ‘As the case progresses, as it unfolds, the opposition will find themselves completely failing in implicating me in any manner whatsoever.’

I thank everybody and am very optimistic. She said, ‘Whatever I have achieved in wrestling is due to the people. I hope to be successful in this new endeavour as well. I will address the wrestlers’ protest at Jantar Mantar later. BJP allowed us to sit there. Brij Bhushan is not the entire country; the people are standing with me. My supporters have been with me through everything.” She further added, “I will succeed in all my battles. The pain of not winning a medal lessened when I arrived at the airport in India. I have faced many challenges and will continue to do so.’

These developments continue to keep the political scenario fluid in Haryana. The comparison of Singh between the Hooda family and the Pandavas, and the high-profile entry of Vinesh Phogat into the Congress Party two developments have generated considerable discussion and controversy. With elections around the corner, these events are expected to impact voter sentiments and political strategies in the region.
