Bengaluru: Anuradha Tiwari, a Bengaluru-based entrepreneur and CEO of the content writing agency JustBurstOut, has ignited a heated online debate with her recent posts about caste identities and the reservation system in India. In her latest post, Tiwari asked, “Are Brahmins the new Jews of India?” and voiced concerns about what she believes is a “false portrayal of Brahmins as oppressors.”

“Brahmins the New Jews of India?”

In her controversial post on X (formerly Twitter), Tiwari stated, “False portrayal of Brahmins as oppressors is being dangerously normalized.” She emphasized her pride in her Brahmin heritage, calling for an end to what she perceives as unjust criticism against her caste. “I am Anuradha Tiwari, a #ProudBrahmin & not an oppressor,” she wrote, sparking further conversation.

Previous Post on “Brahmin Genes”

This is not the first time Tiwari has stirred debate. A prior post of hers, captioned “Brahmin genes,” went viral, amassing over six million views and 30,000 likes. The post featured a photo of Tiwari flexing her muscles and sipping coconut water, accompanied by her remarks about Brahmins’ role in society. This led to divided opinions, with some supporting the caste pride she expressed, while others criticized her stance, particularly in the context of India’s reservation system.

Views on Reservation

The Bengaluru CEO has been vocal in her opposition to the current reservation system, arguing that it disproportionately benefits Reserved categories while ignoring the struggles of General Category (GC) individuals. She claimed that the system is unfair to hardworking individuals from the General Category who do not receive the same benefits. One of her posts read, “A nation can never thrive by betraying its hardworking people.”

In another earlier post from August 2022, she shared her personal frustrations with the system, writing, “I am a general category student. My ancestors have passed me down 0.00 acres of land… I couldn’t get admission despite scoring 95% but my classmate who scored 60% & comes from a well-off family gets admission.”

Online Reactions

Tiwari’s posts have generated significant backlash and support alike, with social media users divided over her stance. Some have criticized her views as casteist, while others have praised her for speaking up against what they see as flaws in the reservation system. Her comments have reignited ongoing debates in India surrounding caste identity and the impact of reservation policies on education and employment opportunities.
